A German cardinal on Saturday said he regretted comparing abortion to the genocides carried out by Hitler and Stalin, which sparked a public outcry here, and claimed to have been misunderstood.
More:
During a sermon in the city's cathedral on Thursday, the cardinal declared: "First there was Herod, who ordered the children of Bethlehem to be killed, then there was Hitler and Stalin among others, and today unborn children are being killed in their millions."
And:
On Friday, the co-president of the Greens party, which is in coalition with Chancellor Gerhard Schröder's Social Democrats, demanded an apology from Meisner.
"He must apologize to those he has offended," said Claudia Roth.
I would have understood this statement if the Cardinal had remarked that Jews were dirty money grubbing people as they were accused of being in Nazi Germany. In this case though I have to scratch my head. Why would he regret comparing the Holocaust to Abortion?
Abortion certainly can be compared to the Holocaust. Hitler wanted to remove those who weren't desired, not just the Jews. Gypsies, blacks and other undesired humans were killed. Abortion is also the killing of the undesired but is much more horrible. Abortion is condoned while the holocaust was/is condemned. Everyone has the right to compare the two since the goal of both is the same, namely the extermination of those who are unwanted.
Jewish people are losing any moral authority they might have once had by not supporting the unborn and by attacking those who use this comparison. Jewish citizens in America overwhelmingly vote for liberals who 90 percent of the time vote to support pro-abortion laws. Of all the people in the world, you would think the Jews would be speaking out the loudest against the horror and yet they are silent. They choose to only speak out against those who are trying to save millions of lives.
This is one Jew who says that Jews and the rest of civilization should be ashamed of themselves for not defending the defenseless.
