Moore's Follies
On April 14th, 2004 Michael Moore said:
"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "the enemy". They are the revolution, the minutemen and their numbers will grow...and they will win"
Michael Moore supported Saddam Hussein completely. In his movie, before the war, he showed children flying kites and the country in wonderful peace and harmony. He didn't show the murder of millions by Saddam. He didn't show the pulling out of tongues, the executions, the cutting off of limbs and the millions living in fear under that dictator.
For those of you still thinking that we did the wrong thing by liberating Iraq, you need to slap yourselves a few times.
Will the Iraq plan succeed? I don't know. We are up against 1400 years of ancient tradition and a social structure that is foreign to all westerners. The Arab Mullahs and Imams have kept the Arab street living in the time of Mohammed. They are only recently coming of age as a populace after having spent 1400 years in the dark.
Arab people and Muslims are not bad by nature. They, like Christians or any other religion are susceptible to what their religions leaders tell them. If the overall tone is peace and if there is a determination for all to get along then that is what the general population of believers will follow. The majority of Muslims want this today.
By some estimates though there are 150 million Muslims who are not interested in peace. They want us to capitulate to their God. These are the ones that we are at war with. These are the ones we call "terrorists". Why? Because they seek to terrorize and destroy us.
Michael Moore has no sense of reality. It's unfortunate that there are so many people who hate President Bush and Republicans so much that they will do anything, say anything and see anything that has to do with reinforcing that hatred.
Moore is providing aid and comfort to the enemy.
Section 2381 of U.S. Code Title 18, “Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.”

59. As reported in the trade journal Screen Daily, affiliates
of the Iranian and Syrian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah
are promoting Fahrenheit 9/11, and Moore’s Middle East
distributor, Front Row, is accepting the terrorist assistance:
“In terms of marketing the film, Front Row is getting a boost
from organizations related to Hezbollah which have rung up
from Lebanon to ask if there is anything they can do to support
the film. And although [Front Row’s Managing Director
Giancarlo] Chacra says he and his company feel strongly that
Fahrenheit is not anti-American, but anti-Bush, ‘we can’t go
against these organizations as they could strongly boycott the
film in Lebanon and Syria.’” (Nancy Tartaglione, “Fahrenheit
to be first doc released theatrically in Middle East,” Screen
Daily.com, June 9, 2004. The story is discussed in Samantha
Ellis, “Fahrenheit 9/11 gets help offer from Hezbollah,” The
Guardian (London), June 17, 2004.)
Slate.com (6/24/04) followed up on the story, and reported:
“Gianluca Chacra, the managing director of Front Row
Entertainment, the movie’s distributor in the United Arab
Emirates, confirms that Lebanese student members of
Hezbollah ‘have asked us if there’s any way they could support
the film.’ Chacra was unfazed, even excited, about their
offer. ‘Having the support of such an entity in Lebanon is
quite significant for that market and not at all controversial.
I think it’s quite natural.’”
