Oh no, not another Abu Ghraib Comparison
Yep, it's time for another one. It's a great one to use on how the left
gets carried away for political purposes. The "torture" of putting
underwear on the heads of the enemy and subjecting them to being viewed by a
woman while they are naked needs to be compared to what bad things there
really are in the world.
I can imagine what the liberals tell their children at night, it probably
goes something like this:
"watch out for the horrible conservatives children, for they will come along
and take all the money away from us, they will stop "gay days" in Disneyland
where men and women flaunt their homosexuality and practically have sex in
the streets in front of Mickey and Minnie, they will pollute our air,
choking us to death, their corporate greed will stomp every hard working
union man (whoops, and woMAN) into the dirt to squeeze every last drop of
blood out of us. Be afraid children, be very afraid"
And then they take their kids to see a nice children's movie, like the
latest Harry Potter, the Prisoner of Azkaban. It has all kinds of fun
things to see and laugh at, like horrific ghouls that suck your life out of
you, or an incredibly scary werewolf and plenty of witchcraft for all to
see.
Yep, the theatre was full of wonderful parents that thought that they should
see the wonderful horrible things that our movie industry thinks is
appropriate for children. I guess their rating of PG was supposed to be
sufficient enough to warn parents from bringing their young children.
Let's see, PG, "Some material may not be suitable for young children".
This entire movie was not suitable for anyone under the age of 18! But
Hollywierd and that whole crew is so desensitized that they just don't get
it.
But why would parents think anything might be wrong with this movie? After
all, it was written as a children's book.
Oh and by the way, of course they had to throw in advertisements that show
other horrors and homosexuals in other movies that are completely
inappropriate for children.
One father subjected his daughter to the entire movie, probably because he
didn't want to miss anything, or lose money...whatever. At the end, the
daughter, about 5 or 6 years old was hugging her father in fear. He had to
sit with her for a minute before he could walk out of the movie theatre.
When they got out to the car she started crying because of what she had
seen.
Yo Mr., when you saw that this material was inappropriate you should have
walked out!
Lest I sound like Mr. know-it-all, I have to say that I once made this
mistake, the one of not understanding the difference between what my child
saw & what I saw. When she was about 7 or so I used to be a moron and
watched this series called Monsters with her. I thought she kind of got
into it. After a few episodes, over a period of months, there came this one
episode where a worm crawled into a person's arm. It looked kind of gross
to me, but it horrified my daughter and she had nightmares about it. I then
realized that what I saw and what she saw were two completely different
things.
I don't know why it took that episode and her reaction to show me that I was
being an idiot letting her watch things like that, but it did.
So I have this to say to my fellow moronic parents out there that haven't
gotten it yet. Protect the minds of you and your children. The old saying
from the 70s is "a mind is a terrible thing to waste", but in this case, my
quote is:
"A mind is a fragile thing, don't desensitize it".
